Multi-stakeholder initiatives play an important role in raising awareness among companies and in the implementation of human rights due diligence. For example, umbrella associations and sectoral initiatives can respond in a very concrete way to the challenges inherent of an economic sector. Indeed, companies in the same sector often face similar difficulties, for which it may be difficult and/or costly to respond alone. Companies, and in particular SMEs, can increase their sphere of influence by participating in such initiatives.
