Jerome Bellion-Jourdan has been actively engaged on Business and Human Rights for more than a decade, most recently as Deputy Secretary-General of the International Organisation of Employers (IOE). As a European diplomat, he was involved in the final rounds leading to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

He represented the EU in the UN Intergovernmental working group to elaborate a legally binding instrument to regulate the activities of transnational corporations and other business enterprises in the realm of human rights law; as well as in other processes such as the Steering Committee of the Mega-Sporting Events Platform and the Group of Friends of the co-Chairs (Switzerland/ICRC) of the Montreux Document Forum on Private Military and Security Companies.

Jerome Bellion-Jourdan also delivered courses and training for UNITAR, Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie and the Geneva Graduate Institute, and is a regular speaker in the UN and other fora. He holds a PhD in Political Science from Sciences Po Paris.

He is Senior Fellow at the Institute for Global Negotiation.
